SCHOOL RULES
PRIDE IN OUR NATION
· Students who are Singapore
Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge.
· Students will take the Pledge
with the right fist over the heart.
PRIDE IN OUR SCHOOL
A. SCHOOL UNIFORM
· Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification
to the uniform is not allowed.
· Students are to wear their name tags on their school shirts and
PE T-shirts.
B. PE ATTIRE
· Students must be in PE attire during PE lessons.
· Students’ PE T-shirts must always be neatly tucked in.
· PE attire can be worn when students are participating in any other
sports or physical activities.
C. PERSONAL JACKETS
· If a student needs to wear a jacket to keep warm or for medical
reasons, the jacket should be plain-colored.
· Black, white or blue jackets are encouraged.
· When wearing the jacket becomes unnecessary (e.g. when it becomes
too warm later in the day), the student will be advised to remove it and
keep it in the school bag.
· Wearing a jacket for non-essential reasons is considered a change
to the school uniform, including PE attire.
D. SCHOOL SHOES AND SOCKS
· Students are to wear plain black shoes and plain black socks that
fully cover the ankles.
E. APPEARANCE
· Students must be neat in appearance, clean shaven and no facial
hair is allowed.
· Girls must have their hair neatly trimmed above the collar or
tied up with black or navy-blue accessories.
· Girls must not allow their fringe to cover their eyes; any hair
that that falls over the eyes must be pinned up.
· Girls are only allowed to wear small, simple ear studs. No other
piercings are allowed.
· Boys are not allowed to have any body piercings.
· All spectacle frames are to be in gold, silver, black or dark
blue.
· All students are to keep their hair in its natural colour.
· All students should have simple and neat hairstyles. Students
with inappropriate hairstyles will be required to restyle their hair accordingly.
· All jewellery or accessories of any kind, including but not limited
to necklaces, wristlets, bracelets and anklets are not allowed.

F. ATTENDANCE

Attendance in school is compulsory. Any absence is to be supported by a Medical Certificate or valid letter of excuse written by the parent and/or guardian. In line with MOE guidelines, students are allowed up to 10 parent/ guardian letters per year.

Attendance will be taken into account when determining students’ Conduct grades
G. PUNCTUALITY

A student is considered punctual when he or she arrives at school before 7:30 am The flag-raising ceremony begins at 7:30 am Students who arrive after 7:30 am will be marked late. It is encouraged that students arrive by 7:25 am to ensure they are adequately prepared for the first period.

Frequent late-coming will affect a student’s eligibility for
- Student Leadership Selection such as Prefect, Class Captain
- Selection for NSG/SYF/Competitions
- School/MOE Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships e.g. Edusave Character Award (ECHA)
H. POSSESSION OF ITEMS IN SCHOOL
1. Smartphones/smartwatches and electronic devices

Students are advised NOT to bring smartphones and/or smartwatches or any electronic devices to school. However, the school acknowledges that parents may need to contact students after school hours. All parents are to acknowledge the Responsible Usage of Smartphones/Smartwatches Agreement, which guides the use of smartphones/ smartwatches in the school compound.

Students are not allowed to use smartphones or smartwatches during school hours, including recess, CCA, and after-school programmes.

All students are to switch off their smartphones and/or smartwatches when they are in school and keep them in their school bags. Students are responsible for safekeeping their own devices.

Students caught with these devices switched on within the school premises; or using them during school hours; or playing games; or recording any kind of videos or audio on these devices without due permission from the school, will have their devices confiscated.
2. Prohibited Items

All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which can be used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.

Students are not to carry any personal sharp-pointed/sharp-edged tool, e.g. scissors, penknife and Swiss army knife.

If students are found with any prohibited items, the items will be confiscated immediately. These items will not be returned to the students.

Students are to check with the school when they are unsure if certain items can be brought to school.
